What your OEM Acura brakes do might seem simple enough. You press your brake pedal, and they slow your vehicle down. Press it long enough, and you stop. However, how brakes work is more complicated. A master brake cylinder begins the process. It forces brake fluid through a system of brake hoses and brake lines. When the fluid reaches your brake calipers, they clamp your brake pads onto your brake rotors. The pads and rotors rub together, and that creates friction. This friction is what's responsible for slowing and stopping your wheels and tires.
